TODAY IT DID THE UNAVOIDABLE THING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM I MYSELF CREATED….

Remember back in April when I decided that I myself can bleach my hair… Maybe because I wanted to see if BLONDES HAVE MORE FUN? Well I bleached my hair (4) times… Which GOD knows it is a miracle I have hair… Anyways I literally fried my hair….

So today i went to do something about it… I CHOPPED it all OFF…. I hurt me but believe me I had no choice.

I can honestly say that the hardest part of not living in Miami is the food… Don’t get me wrong I love Georgia – but I miss all the Cuban food. I cook alot of Cuban food. I would say my cooking is 80% Cuban – but I cant make pastries, Cuban bread etc….

This is a typical dinner… White Rice, Black Beans, Fried Pork, Fried Green Bananas and a Cuban Tamale.

So I am very much looking forward to it… Not only that my oldest son is moving to GA so I will be driving back with him (not looking forward to the drive) But I am happy is coming to study at Kennesaw University…

Looking for Inspiration & Ideas

I am so sorry I have been a real real bad blogger to say the least!!!

But I am really looking for ideas and inspiration… Besides the point that I am beyond tired and busy!!! Did I say tiered and busy?

Trying to come up with new ideas and inspirations is hard when you do not have girls…. But i am trying… as some of you know I sew and make headbands for baby girls as well as bows and other very cute girl stuff. I am looking for new refreshing ideas… As well as patterns… so that is the reason I have not had a chance to blog…

I am a little behind on orders so I have been busy sewing my life away….

But I promise to be back real soon – like when I figure out what direction I an headed…

Ridiculously Cute!

It has been so hot in South Australia for over a week...40+ degrees Celsius everyday, very dry also.
A guy at work lives at Maude.  His wife sent him these photos of a little Koala which just walked into the back porch looking for a bit of heat relief.  She filled up a bucket and this is what happened!

NY Strip, Brown Rice with Veggies and a Tomato Cucumber Balsamic Salad

I was going to wait till next week to join in on the Tasty Tuesday as I had no idea what I could do… with out really preparing for it.

But, as I was preparing lunch I realized it was not much of a recipe but it may help someone on the run to make lunch/dinner in a quickie and with market specials.

Items used

1 New York Steak $2.99 lb SALE - Stockpile

1 Lipton Envelope of Vegetable Mix $.60 a pack

1 cup Brown Rice Publix Brand $1.59

1 Tomato $1.00 lb.

1 Cucumber $.50 ea

I love my George Forman little grill…. I do everything from my turkey burgers, to steak… It works like a charm. Though I may admit “I hate cleaning it” as I want to wash with water and soap.

 

Grill Steak till the cooking consistency you like your meat.  Chicken if you prefer -

Open your pack of Lipton veggie mix and mix with your rice. Cook rice as you would normally but just add the pack to the water and stir. Simmer on Low-Medium heat as Brown rice cooks a little longer than white rice. I use these packages when I am in a hurry or when I really have no frozen or canned veggies. This is also a great trick for picky eaters!!! shshshs don’t tell them.

Rice simmering – Does she not look yummy?

1 Tomato and 1 Cucumber, cut peel and plate.

Add olive oil, salt, pepper and Balsamic vinegar.

This is the best part plate and eat your yummy yummy inexpensive lunch! ENJOY
